Mobilizing Communities for Prevention

Social Mobilization Programme

The social mobilization programme carries out community based interventions at selected locations in all districts island-wide. Through the programme we mobilize people in several structures such as youth groups, NGOs, CBOs, Schools, Government structures, Development organizations towards alcohol, tobacco and other drug prevention. We also conduct experimental programmes such as demonstrational sites and incorporate drug prevention into the agendas of other structures and organizations.

Currently we work with a wide range of communities including, children, schools, youth, women, alcohol, tobacco and other drug users, librarians and counsellors through various governmental and non-governmental structures and the Sri Lanka army, navy and air force.
